gtOS: Accessible Tablet Interface

Created as a personal tool for a family member, this project transforms a general-purpose tablet into an accessible media appliance. The application serves as a custom shell that aggregates specific features—including a photo album, music player, video library, news feed, and social contacts—into a unified dashboard. The design prioritizes legibility and ease of interaction, ensuring a straightforward and frustration-free user experience.

Modern tablet operating systems often feature complex navigation, small UI elements, and cluttered menus that can be overwhelming for users with limited technical literacy. This complexity created a barrier that prevented the user from independently accessing basic digital entertainment and communication tools.

I engineered an Android launcher that completely replaces the standard home screen with a simplified, high-contrast interface. The solution consolidates core functions into large, distinct modules, allowing the user to navigate between media and communication apps without the risk of getting lost in system settings.
